"There's So Much More Than What You See"

So clearly the new buzz that is burning much noise on radio speakers and sparking much attention on TV networks and other internet blogs is the birth of Beyonce and Jay-Z's new baby girl,  Blue IV Carter. While baby Blue was brought into the world with much anticipation and a private celebration, there were some individuals that were "blue" due to the situation. What situation you ask? Well considering that Beyonce' and Jay paid and bought out the entire floor of a hospital, which is considered a "public" facility to provide equal oppurtunity health care for all in need has raised many eyebrows and made many people angry. In trying to balance and understand both sides of the situation, I totally feel that I can empathize with the feeling of wanting to have privacy for such a moment as child birth. It is a time for intimacy with family and loved ones. But to buy out an entire hospital floor, one could possibly view that as taking "priviledge" to another level. Now getting back to this whole privacy "issue" that we all know is border line impossible for celebrities to have in this day and age with the paparazzi popping out of bushes and flying around in jets, one must sit and ask the simple question...why? Well clearly the desire to know what is going on in celeb's lives hold a lot of weight as to why this is the case. Why do people care so much to know about every little thing that goes on in the lives of these people. YES, people...celebs are ordinary people just like me and you, but with a larger bank account. So why is it that people were so glued to finding out the sex of Beyonce's baby and when it slipped out from a comment from former group mate and friend Kelly Rowland that the baby was a girl, why was this such a BIG story or HOT topic that involved media coverage? I mean just like any other woman, Beyonce is that, and the gender options are limited between having a boy and a girl...that's it...not a magical unicorn or some mythical out of this world creature...a boy or a girl. Why so much hooplah over a child that we may not even see for a few years, or until Beyonce' and Jay Z are very well ready to show the world. While in the mean time "unseen" baby Blue is getting all of this media attention, there are so many children in hospitals that could use a cover story are a little media spotlight. There are children in foreign countries that are being used as soldiers, children suffering from homelessness and poverty that would love for someone to bring a camera and shoot their story. These invisible children are not seen because their parents are millionaires and have to buy out a hospital, but because the media doesn't care to show some of the things that matter the most.
